Yes the Legion is more "refined", because it uses "some" aftermarket parts, giving it an advantage, but also the higher price. The M11A1 is more utilitarian, with corrosion resistant internals, meaning phosphate coated/Parkerized which results in a rougher finish, and a "less smooth" trigger pull.

Went to qualify and first shot had an FTE with the next good round butting up against the back of the non-extracted spent round. I cleared and finished the next few rounds required no prob.However, the SA trigger is like breaking the proverbial glass rod. So in the end, performance wise, the Legion has a competition grade trigger, while the M11A1 has a perfectly functional Mil-Spec equivalent. We have two M11's; the first one went back to Sig for a trigger job (too heavy), and also had the fat trigger installed. I have large hands and hated the thin short reach trigger. My wife is 5' 3" and she even prefers the fat trigger, granted she has a VERY strong grip.

Finally took my M11-A1 to the range today and put 115 rounds through her. Was plagued, and I mean plagued, by FTE leading to some pretty ******** failures. Counted six before I said to hell with it and packed the gun up. The two IT made mags are smooth as butter to load and seat in the weapon. The checkmate is harder to load and requires more force to seat it as well as to depress the mag release button.It appears that Sig has discontinued all variations of the M11-a1. I guess they needed more room to build 63,000 variations of 938's.Some observers have questioned why SIG would reintroduce the P225 when the company already makes the P239, which is almost identical and costs about $130 less. The P225-A1 is 1 ounce heavier than the P239, and the guns are about the same size.
